The Massachusetts Gaming Commission (MGC) has declared that twenty-nine prospective candidates have expressed their desire to secure the state’s new sports wagering permits.

The MGC stated that it received inquiries regarding the scope of operations from twenty-nine operators by the established deadline. These operators are prospective applicants for Category 1, 2, and 3 sports betting licenses. Three of these inquiries were related to Category 1 licenses, three from entities interested in Category 2 licenses, and twenty-three from potential Category 3 license applicants. The state regulatory body issued a scope inquiry on October 7th, which is an essential requirement for applying to operate sports betting within Massachusetts. Interested parties were required to submit the inquiry by October 17th to enable the MGC to commence reviewing the parties intending to apply.
