Ontarios digital gaming marketplace is flourishing, with the count of active participants doubling in the final three months of 2022.
The quantity of active player profiles reached 910,000, a 45% surge from the preceding three-month period. Total gaming income was $457 million CAD, a 71% upswing from the second quarter.
The average monthly expenditure per active player profile was $167 CAD, an 18% rise from the second quarter.
Total wagers placed in the three months ending December 31, 2022, were $11.5 billion CAD, a 91% increase from the prior three-month period.
As of December 31, there were 36 operators, a 50% increase from the second quarter, and 68 gaming websites, a 62% increase from the second quarter.
These figures encompass all businesses under the iGO’s oversight, so they do not include products from the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation.
The iGO is a subsidiary of the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO) and is accountable for conducting and managing online gaming through private operators.
Ontario officially launched its legal and regulated online gaming market in April 2022.
