888 Poker, the internet poker division of 888 Holdings, gave back a record $287,292 to players in 2022 from game fairness checks.
888 Poker gave back a total of $287,292 (£239,300/€269,998) from accounts that broke its fair play rules.
This money was given back to 6,801 players, averaging $42 per player, a rise of 32% from the number of discoveries reported in 2021.
888 Poker stated that bots and real-time assistants (RTAs) – which use software programming to create an unfair advantage over human players – continue to be a common problem in online poker, and it has increased investment in its own detection abilities to address these issues on its network.
The operator also stated it has found players working together to gain an unfair advantage.
“At 888 Poker, we take game fairness very seriously,” said Matan Krakower, Head of Poker Product at 888 Poker. “This year, due to our continued investment in technology, player collaboration, and team hard work, we have increased the detection rate of bot accounts, RTAs, and collusion, giving back nearly $290,000 to players.”
Were dedicated to ensuring 888 Poker remains a pleasurable, equitable, and secure environment for gaming. That’s our primary focus for the upcoming year.
