The Kingdom of Cambodia is taking stringent measures against unlawful gaming activities. A collaborative initiative, supported by the nation’s leader, involving various governmental bodies, aims to suppress clandestine gambling operations.

The Cambodian Committee for the Administration of Commercial Gaming (CCAGC) recently released a mandate to combat these illicit practices. The mandate, endorsed by the Minister of Finance and Economics, who also presides over the CCAGC, stresses the importance for authorized operators to rigorously comply with their license stipulations and prominently exhibit them at their venues.

This clampdown follows a call to action by Prime Minister Hun Sen for more rigorous enforcement against illicit gaming, particularly focusing on the lottery sector. He has voiced apprehensions regarding the detrimental societal repercussions of these activities, especially in non-urban regions.

The mandate also directs local officials to collaborate closely with the CCAGC to carry out routine investigations, guaranteeing that no unlawful activities are transpiring. This joint endeavor underscores the government’s dedication to upholding societal harmony and safeguarding its populace from the harms linked to illegal gaming.

Beijings campaign against unlawful wagering persists, with fresh legislation imposing substantial monetary penalties and incarceration for participants. Those apprehended engaging in such conduct could face fines spanning from 1,225 to 5,000 USD and a maximum of five years’ imprisonment. Authorities are also urging heightened collaboration among departments to oversee and disclose any prohibited gaming ventures.

In related developments within the Asian gaming sector, Stake.com has landed a significant sponsorship agreement, becoming the designated betting associate of the UFC within the area.
