The Choctaw Nation recently commemorated the groundbreaking of their latest travel center in Louisville, Mississippi with a large gathering. This development is significant for the area! The center is expected to provide a substantial boost to the local economy by generating employment opportunities and offering essential services.
The travel center aims to cater to all traveler needs, featuring more than 150 gaming machines, dining options, and fuel services. Additionally, the tribe has launched a competition to select a memorable name for the new establishment.

Prior to the establishment’s summer 2024 debut, it will undergo a name change, shedding its former identity as Louisville Travel Plaza. The tribe’s leader stressed the robust alliance, stating, “Our people, the Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians, are enthusiastic about this joint effort and the chance to cultivate a more prosperous tomorrow together.”
